Kennedy High School Rocks!
CancerReallySucks along with Gems of Hope wants to thank the Kennedy High School student
government for all of their support in 2009. In January at the "Pink Out" basketball game
proceeds from the sales of "pink" t-shirts were split between the American Cancer Society
and Gems of Hope. Students participated in monthy workshops to create gifts for cancer
patients. In May students held a min-relay for Life at the school track to inspire
participation in The ACS Realy for Life at Kirkwood Community College! Cougars ROCK!

"I get by with a little help from my friends."
-John Lennon

Sydney, 19

Though cancer has its negative effects, in the long run it has been a blessing in regards to the way I live my daily life. I know that each day is a gift to be celebrated and I thank God for opening my eyes to all that is beautiful and good in this world.
